Stroud District Council issues a statement condemning ‘all forms of racism across the world following the appalling death of George Floyd’, co-signed by political leaders from the Labour, Green, Liberal Democrat, and Conservative parties. The statement recognises ‘the historic and institutional injustice experienced by BAME [Black, Asian, and minority ethnic] people across the world, including in our own communities’, and reaffirms ‘our commitment to promoting equality and tackling discrimination’.
