From late July to early August 2021, the Blackboy Clock consultation is covered by the Stroud News & Journal. After announcing news of the consultation, the paper publishes several ‘Letters of the Day’ from different perspectives as well as running responses from experts on racism in rural areas. The SNJ’s articles start to gather reaction when posted to their Facebook page, accumulating hundreds of comments. The consultation is picked up by BBC Gloucestershire and later circulated by the main BBC News account on Twitter (X). It also garners attention from the online group Save Our Statues.
