DCMS is questioned in parliament about contested heritage

A question is raised in the House of Commons about what steps are being taken to protect the integrity of contested heritage. The parliamentary under-secretary for DCMS, Nigel Huddleston MP, states on the record that ‘removing contested elements of the historic environment is not the right approach’, and that they should be used to educate about ‘all aspects of Britain’s complex past, both good and bad’.
