Community Representation Taskforce writes new plaque for Blackboy Clock

Following on from the April 2022 recommendations approved by Stroud District Council, a Community Representation Taskforce is established and recruited. The group is appointed to write a new contextualising plaque for outside Blackboy House, as well as developing a community project to commemorate a local individual or group and the Anti-Slavery Arch. The taskforce members are remunerated for their time, and are drawn from different age and social groups to be representative; one of them is Dan Guthrie.

In a council statement accompanying the recruitment call, it notes, ‘Consultation with [the Blackboy Clock’s] owner is ongoing and no decision has yet been made on its future.’
